It's that time of the year again!

It really shouldn't be an event that any straight man is interested in, but the trading opportunities are just too good to turn down!

I can never understand why it attracts just vast sums of money, but over £2M matched so far, and the final isn't until Saturday. There have already been some cracking swings within the past week

Ukraine 44 to 5.1
France 3.65 to 9.6

I have always been intrigued by the differing attitudes to Eurovision on mainland Europe compared to the UK.

I used to play Ice Hockey, as a junior, and when we were in the under 16's went on an end of season tour to Norkkoping, Sweden. After playing our first match on the Saturday afternoon we headed into the town centre for some food.

The town centre was deserted! After wandering past numerous closed bars and shops we found one empty restaurant and wandered in. The bemused waiter sat us down and we obviously asked where everyone was. "Don't you know" he said shocked "its the Eurovision song contest tonight so everyone is indoors watching it". :D

i love Eurovision purely for the bizarreness of it all... and the political voting!

From a trading perspective.. any advice on what to look out for? or just look out for developing trends and ride the wave?

Indeed! And the liberal luvvies at the BBC giving Graham Norton Terry Wogan's old seat, certainly doesn't help!

Or they felt a 5 time BAFTA winning presenter would help improve viewing figures, which is the case.

They were some of the craziest markets I've ever seen after the first half of votes. You had Australia 1.05 as people including myself had no idea what the frig was happening. Russia were around 40 at the half way stage and then slowly there was a realisation that they could still win so their price plummeted into something like 2-3.0.

I did well with the Ukraine win but could have made a killing if I knew what on earth was going on.

I made some nice money during the day on the markets for Top 10, Top 15, Top 4

These markets didn't have XM switched on, and there were some cracking bookmaking opportunities, as the lay side was regularly underround

That was a really interesting market. I was tired so observed rather than traded, but there were a whole bunch of opportunties.

Lack of any correlation between jury voting and televoting at #Eurovision 2016. Correlation coefficient ... 0.01!
