When Bet Angel ships, Betfair ask us to send out a 'tuned down' version. This means the default factory settings are not optimised and they are operating below top speed, this is a requirement of our license with Betfair.

The following video explains how you can tune up Bet Angel to your requirements. We don't assume that we know what is most important to you, so you can tweak settings according to how you wish. This will ensure you get the fastest updates on calls that are most important to you.

For example : If you trading on the ladder you may want to increase the 'full market depth' calls to a faster number. If you are botting the market, getting a high speed and accurate P&L may be more useful. Basically we have given you the flexibility to do what you wish.

A couple of important notes: -

(1) If you wish to emulate implementations we have seen elsewhere then set 'connection smoothing' to full. This will mimic what some other vendors have done with the way they connect to Betfair. However, we suggest that altering the individual settings according to the market and style of trading you use is the best option. You can then save these to individual profiles.

(2) Because of the data usage limitation's that Betfair impose and the financial cost of exceeding those. Bet Angel buffers calls to Betfair. If Bet Angel buffers a call it will wait until the next window inside the data charge limits. This will give the impression that the software has stalled, lagging or failing to update prices quickly. To check this, temporarily move the 'limit data request from Betfair' to a very high number. You may find that the 'supplementary data refresh rates' are pushing you over the limit of 20 and Bet Angel is stopping you from incurring a massive bill.

You will see the data request counter in the bottom of main window. Make sure you set your data requests to 20 or below to avoid usage charges and to avoid any buffering.

Hope that helps!
