I can't listen to music when I'm trading.

I get preoccupied with the production, the arrangement, the individual instruments, the score, lyrics etc etc and totally switch off from what else is going on.

I find a similar thing, my brain is tuned to picking up on little signals so music makes my brain pick up on little things, whether it is a lyric or something. If I do listen it has to be non-lyrical music of some sort.

I've made more and more use of sound in Bet Angel to give each market a 'tune'. Just little things beeping and buzzing allows me to get a feel for the way a market is behaving.

One of my weaknesses in life (not just trading) is that I get easily distracted. Therefore, I try to avoid music when trading, as I lose concentration

Haven't been doing to bad over the past few days lately doing automation and semi-automation. Trying to crack the pre-race trading and downloaded swetish's spreadsheet to gather some data. Another good one to listen to if you're having a bad day to chill out to white or black. Link below. White for me, i think it's those boots that does it  Like LeTiss says don't trade after alcohol. Good video to watch for any newbies is :-

The only music I hear during late night trading is whatever they play on the US racing channels between races.

But if I was going to put on my own music, Opportunities (let's make lots of money) by the Pet Shop Boys, would be a pretty good choice. :)

The star wars piece 'duel of the fates' by john williams makes for some good trading music imho :) and it is a sort of duel of fates isnt it?

It's funny I can't listen to music with lyrics or my brain tunes into them, so I listen to classical music.
