I didn't notice anything dodgy with the market so I'd guess it was just a simple mistake of incompetent staff tbh, you have to wonder how many times the same thing has happened in the past with favs being replaced with donkeys.

The BHA have eluded to that in a statement, lol, not necessarily eluding to donkey fav's though.

Not trading today so have to ask has this market been settled? And if not will the winner just be classified as a NR and all other bets stand?

Market has been settled with the substituted horse as the winner, only the BHA can amend the result when it goes to an enquiry as the market had weighed in and the result considered official. It'll be thrown out at the enquiry but no use to any punters as it's now been settled , all bets stand.

That's poor but what can they do, just amazes me how the stewards let this happen! In Australia each horse gets it's microchip verified when it enters the mounting yard so there is no mix up. I've never seen that here, surely this will cause a shake up in how things are done!
