FML, just spend the lot on military aid and send it to Ukraine asap.
That would have Putin needing double extra nappies.
Not rocket science is it ?
That money still belongs to Russia, break that trust in the western banking system and there would be huge problems with countries in the western world servicing their debts.
I don’t think anyone in the West cares what Putin and/or Russia says on the issue.

This seems to be set for a perfect storm, literally. Localised! ... who controls the weather?ANGELS15 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 11:11 amIt's likely only a matter of time before tactical nukes are used. As I understand they have a limited yield and are designed more to take out idividual districts or a have a more localised effect. I believe the naval equivalents are designed to take out aircraft carriers.
Tactical nukes, rhetoric and hype. Bottom line - there is no such thing as a winnable war. It's always pyrrhic. War, what's it good for? Absolutely nothing!firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 11:39 pmThis seems to be set for a perfect storm, literally. I have just read a BBC report that the number of people in Absolute Poverty in the UK has risen directly due to price rises associated with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
I know some people will try and dismiss it and say oh, it was covid, or it was the Tories, but the unprecedented price rises in recent times, has happened, following the sanctions placed on Russia that has driven Absolute Poverty in the UK up to 18%.

! agree the effect of Ukraine/Russia is huge. But I don't see any alternative to sanctions. Apart from some russian assassinating Putin. Sounds terrible doesn't it? But if the world coped with the assassination of JFK we could cope with Putin's demise, I think.conduirez wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 8:23 amI have just read a BBC report that the number of people in Absolute Poverty in the UK has risen directly due to price rises associated with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

That’s so he can justify launching 100 tactical nukes against Kyiv and flatten the entire city and surrounding areas.

That he is now blaming Ukraine makes me wonder if the attack was conducted by Russians so they could point at Ukraine, I wouldn't put it past them ... lives in Russia are cheaper than politics!
Russia has become a place where honest journalism is forbidden, so we'll never know, unless it suits Putin's narrative. Pretty crap?firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 4:41 pmThat he is now blaming Ukraine makes me wonder if the attack was conducted by Russians so they could point at Ukraine, I wouldn't put it past them ... lives in Russia are cheaper than politics!

It’s bloody obvious the attack was carried out by members of the Wagner Group in revenge.
