Hi
Has anyone been tracking liquidity in this years IPL?
Some of the earlier matches were around £50m if memory serves me correctly.
Todays match, Delhi vs Chennai is around £20m

I know today was a one sided match but that's still a huge difference.

Closer matches will generate much higher liquidity I would imagine.

It looks as if the Indian authorities have busted illegal bookmakers who were operating hundreds of Betfair accs with a master login. Junior Kolkata a very high profile name in sub continent betting was one of the people arrested.

So it looks as if the famed illegal asian betting markets may actually just be feeders for Betfair. The fact that the exchange is booking this revenue as British may be another matter as this goes against the terms of Gambling Commission licensing.
