Hi
After many years in the dark, gambling and trading on horse racing and greyhounds in Denmark is finally legalized.
Nearly all bookmakers here have it on the card except.....Betfair!
I have tried to get an answer from the Danish section without any luck. Tweeting to the English Betfair has also been without any success.
Taken into account that the standard commission in Denmark is 6,5% and not 5% is seems odd not to offer it to the Danish traders.

(This is not the first instance where Betfair in Denmark seems unwilling to put things on the exchange. The Bitcoin market for instance can only be found on the Sportsbook.)

Especially the lack of horse racing on the Danish exchange seems strange when the other bookmakers have already begun offering prices on the whole card.

Does anyone have a clue what is going on with the Danish Betfair?

This is a stab in the dark without checking, but could be despite the somewhat opening of the market here in Denmark, one thing still being held back in horses (and the like), where Danske Spil still holds the monopoly (along with on course betting, which may or may not be run by DS; have no idea)??? I seem to have distant and foggy memory of reading something along those lines.

Hi
Horse racing and greyhound trading/gambling was actually legalized the 1.January. Unibet and the other bookmakers here offer the whole card even with live pictures from some of the tracks. Only Betfair does not offer horse racing or greyhounds from England (or other countries for that matter).

You should follow it up with Betfair. It sounds like there shouldn't be any reason they are not offering them?

I have done so. The Danish support do not know why. Today I got the explanation that they think there are "technical issues at the moment". Precisely what that term covers they cannot tell. It was stated that maybe they will get it up sometime before the end of February. (Better than nothing of course).
That seems odd since I suspect they must already have the feed and the data from UK.
Contacting the British Betfair is a dead end. They refer to the Danish Betfair.

It is somewhat ironic that precisely Betfair, whom I suspect, should thrive from the termination of the monopoly, is the only one that do not offer horse racing. Whereas Danske spil, which had the monopoly before, is really up and running.
