I would like to know what the average in play race time for 1 mile 2 furlong and a 3 mile race?

It varies so much by course that an average is a guide but little more.

The avg figures I have are ....(the actuals have even more spread)
1m2f - 162s to 200s
3m - 302s to 389s

That's a big difference plus going plays such a part on how fast a race is going to be run. If you're simply using it to avoid the business end of a race I'd say averages should be fine. Personally I use odds to decide when to get nvolved, or not.
