Further to the successful upgrade of the site to a new, more capable, server. This is just a short note to let you know we will be upgrading the forum to a more modern, responsive forum.

It's likely this will happen during a quiet period one evening in the next week.

The forum will remain very similar to the current look and feel with a few tweaks, but more or less be the same in terms of usage and functionality. We are not looking to do any major changes with this upgrade other than modernise it, make it mobile friendly and easier to access key elements.

Just thought I'd keep forum members in the loop.

PW - maybe it's my connection, maybe it's the upgrade, but the improvement in responsiveness is tangible. on the downside won't be able to pop off and make another coffee whilst waiting for posts to appear :(

I'd like to see a 'likes' facility get added, Peter

There are so many cracking posts on this forum that gets lost in amongst drivel.

We will complete the forum upgrade this evening to get us to the next stage. Everything should look pretty familiar to you. We can look at tweaks once this is live.

Hopefully we shouldn't see any problems, but let us know if you witness any.

it does not fit on one page anymore, seems to be hell of lot of scrowling involved

Is there a link to 'view unread posts" in this upgrade as per the last forum?

I can't see one. This saves an awful lot of time.

EDIT: Think I've just found it, but can't delete this post.

yes, it feels like a mobile skin trying to fit the desktop space. on 1920*1080 it feels gappy. that said, i know from experience that once used to it, it wo't seem so bad ;)

Maybe you need to resize just this page and font to fit. Tricky to get everything to fit every device nowadays.
