Hi I placed a bet to back a horse with 10 min left and then to lay it but with in 8 min market had suspended to early I thought get suspended around 2 min it is in the USA Harness.

I noticed with a couple races also from UK suspends to early. Not good if only have the Bet Angle Trader.

I''ve noticed that in non UK horse racing markets like US meetings etc Betfair will suspend markets near the official off time. This can be a problem as often in the case of US races they often tend to go off a few minutes late. In fact they sometimes do this with UK dog racing markets suspending the markets about 30 seconds or even a minute before the traps open.

US race times cannot be relied upon for placing bets before the off. They are usually off very late but occasionally meetings run a few minutes early, or even half-an-hour early due to adverse weather conditions.

When trading US racing it is crucial that you watch or listen to a live feed. Betfair has been known to leave markets open even after the race has finished, and some low-down dirty scumbags will take advantage of traders in the dark and back the winner knowing it's already won the race. ;)

It does happen time to time but if your profitable over time these situations shouldn’t really effect your profit.

It’s a case of whether you can get over theses situations mentally.

US racing is pretty random. I'm sure if they had stricter start times it would increase liquidity. I find the Aussie racing is much better on start times.

You could make the money it costs you back within 1 week easily, just think of the money you are missing out on without using it.

I have also witnessed 30 sec suspend on dog racing.

Betfair make the video available for free on US races - it is therefore possible to see all the runners in the the long build up for the start and loading etc without having to make a financial commitment before deciding to get involved.

I am hoping to get into it fully around nov - dec as I just have to get a few camping items for this summer season first in NZ

But I can only start off with $50 - $100 in my betfair account

By then I hope to get a bet angle pro.

Newcomers to trading don't expect to make much if anything. But I agree, even if you're a £2 trader, purchasing good software like Betangel and getting familiarized with using it can benefit substantially in the longer term.
