Mine is actually measuring six mins past the hour for some reason, so they will differ a little.

I remember the days of working for Ladbrokes early 90's. I had to scramble around looking for additional staff, as the day was so manic. It truly was a great sporting spectacle back then, but it's like The FA Cup......the magic seems to have gone
Indeed, but my how the culture, languages, ethnicity and therefore traditions of the average UK citizen have changed beyond all recognition since those heady days in our once Green and Pleasant Land. :(

Betdaq is on about 3% of the Betfair total, it's never really done very well on the National for me for some reason.

I do miss the buzz you used to get around bookies.
I agree, bookies are/were the life blood of the industry.

All the bookie bashing really is biting the hand that feeds us because their customers' money is moving to other leasure activities not just all moving to the exchanges. Nobody who has a handful of bets a year is going to open a betfair account to do it. Kill retail and you kill wholesale.

£32m would mean at 13:00 they have matched 10% of the entire betting industries total on the Grand National. I smell a bit of a rat there.

But there aren't less indigenous people, just more others, and lots of these other nationalities actually have a much bigger gambling culture than 'we' do, especially Asians and those from the Caribbean.

Do you guys make most of your profit in the last 20mins on the national or is it a steady trickle throughout the day?

The market is tepid in the morning, starts gaining volume as the meeting starts then explodes in the last hour.
