I'll be interested to see how the Group racing at Caulfield trades.
Will you be doing the whole session tonight?

Why are you interested in Caulfield in particular? Are you expecting it to trade in a certain way or a change from in the past or something else?

Randwick I would have thought is the main meeting tonight, especially with the Group 1 Winx stakes

You can find out by looking at the rules on the Betfair site for a market. It always says if it's a turnover charge market and whether cross-matching.
Thanx Derek! I have looked and it doesn't says on trots races that their is an turnover charge...
Good luck tomorrow morning if you are trading aussie markets :D

I can't imagine what sort of turnover charge Peter would rack up if he traded at Randwick!

Sure once Winx retires, it makes sense to get Frankel out here to roger her and Black Caviar?

Randwick's trading as well as ever, seems to be more backers than layers.

I'm afraid they'll have to come over here. Stallions don't travel to cover mares. :)

As long as he doesn't trade more than 24 NSW markets this week he won't pay any.

Hopefully he still sees my question as I am interested in why he was so interested in Caulfield, I feel like I am missing something I should be aware of.

I didn't find the first at Randwick the best but was rushing to get set up for the session.

Good to see Gold Coast is on ATR, don't always get it. Randwick is on ATR, but Caulfield isn't.

Whether you pay turnover charge or not, Betfair has to pay it to NSW on your behalf. So if you avoid TC by trading less than 25 markets and cost them a lot of money they will ask you to stop or possibly close your account.

I thought the first at Caulfield traded very much like Flemington does. I don't know why the big Victorian tracks all seem to have so much money sat in the market. It is like there is one big player in the market doing it.

Why do you like Ipswich so much Derek?

Randwick is my number one course with an 89% success rate. Caulfield is number six and Ipswich No. 18 at just under 70%. So I'm not trading it tonight with the other two meetings but it's usually on midweek when things are quieter and then it's much more appealing.

Thanks Derek. I would have thought it would fit in tonight quite well sandwiched nicely between Randwick and Caulfield.

I found the second at Caulfield and Randwick much better than the first races. Tatura has been my best track so far oddly.

When there's low-grade racing in the UK I'm happy to trade a race every ten minutes but when there's better racing on I much prefer 15-20 minutes between races, give myself more time to look at the market. Especially when some of the bigger meetings have more money flowing earlier than usual.

Sky Sports Radio coverage has been utterly dire today. Too busy playing recorded interviews from Randwick to bother giving live commentary of races. Driving me mad.

Just missed Belmont as playing a pre-record interview, then play a recording of Belmont and so miss the start of Gold Coast and join it halfway through then a gap when they could have played the interview and would have been able to give live commentary of the two races they missed!
