Any tips what sort of horses should be nominating?

Idealy the back price would need to be >3 unless you shorten the percentage.

Rather then nominating a horse is there a way to set it to look at all SP and signal a horse of odds 3 - 4 to back and another horse between 5-6 to lay?

Back or Lay Percentage X 4.baf
Hi, This has been modified to Back & Lay rows 1-4 you will notice i've changed the stored value names to correspond with the rows i:e backbsp1/laybsp1, backbsp2/laybsp2 etc. Not sure how to get your BSP @3 using signals hope this helps.
I've not tried this myself so perhaps use in practice mode initially.

Regards,

Mick.

£ 10.00 Back bet placed on Cape Greco at 1.24. Fully matched at 1.40096.

Finding sometimes Horse looks like it going to win, it places the 50% back bet but gets matched higher as another horse coming on stronger. Is there a way to cancel if not matched quickly or are the odds moving too quick?

Betfair will always match you at the best available price in your case 1.40096. I was thinking a good strategy could be to use offset with greening for the back percentage. I’m not on my computer at the moment so I’ll have a gander tomorrow

If you back a horse at say 1.4 and then it starts to drift, how would I set it to monitor lay price and lay if gets to 2.00 to minimise loss?

You would add a close trade on selection condition with the following condition
number of place bets triggers cond
on selection
is greater than 0

fixed odds condition
selections lay price
is greater than 2.0

No offset bets can't be used when taking SP, you can just add a green up rule bet to trigger once the profit reaches 30% of your stake

Hello Guys
I have been searching these forums high and low to find an automation to do a simple task.
This is the closest I have come across.

I am looking to Back a Nominated runner (Fav) at PLUS 50% of BSP in-play at the start of the race.

Would this file work OK for me by removing the Lay parts, and switching the Back part from Minus (%) to Plus (%) ?
And that's it....
I am just looking to back pre-selected favourites that may start slowly but are likely to still win.

Thanks if you can confirm.

The easiest way is to create a new automation file
It just needs a 'Place back bet' rule armed a second or two after going in-play
Then on the parameters tab for the 'place at' choose Custom % above actual SP

Thanks Dallas. I was wondering if the biggest jumps in price may happen at the start but I guess a second or two won't matter.
If I only wanted to back horses between 2.0 and 3.0 would I have to have the conditions set at 50% above (ie. 2.5 to 4.0)?

Unless it rears up badly or throws its jockey its unlikely it will touch 50% of its BSP within that time.
But there is no other way of doing it using SP (ie, you need to know that at the off to then place a bet above it).

The next closest option is to place a bet 50% above its current price at or just after post time then keep that in-play

Yes, I think It might be best if it's say, 10 secs, before the race.

I also want the horse to be within a range ie. 2.0 to 3.0
Would I have to have the conditions set at 50% above (ie. 2.5 to 4.0) or the current range?

I guess I could just experiment with a few races to find out :) Thanks for you help.
