If you're contacted by anyone offering SIS pictures 'off-plan' DON'T DO IT - it's a scam.

Hi Super did you get a name I had someone offer me streaming straight from the course's approx 3 a day for "The cost is £500 for 2 months 1 month in arrears 1 month upfront
So you pay after 30 days and so on
We can arrange atrial for £75 for a Mon to Sun"
is this the same sort of deal you were offered?

regards
paul

Sounds like the same person.

Troy de Boer and I.Rutherford were the names I got, but I suspect they change them regularly.

yes thats the fellow Troy this is the conversation I had with him and it does sound very convincing.

kenneth paul thompson says:
hi troy on line
Troy de boer says:
Hi
kenneth paul thompson says:
what info you got on the feeds
Troy de boer says:
OK
Did you ever use racetech feeds off 20 West
kenneth paul thompson says:
no I once had sis at home but no longer cost to much
Troy de boer says:
OK so you know what use they can be put to
kenneth paul thompson says:
to right
Troy de boer says:
So not to piss about I will tell you the deal
kenneth paul thompson says:
ok
Troy de boer says:
The cost is £500 for 2 months 1 month in arrears 1 month upfront
So you pay after 30 days and so on
We can arrange atrial for £75 for a Mon to Sun
Thats the level of where its at
OK
Technically if you have a 10MB broadband you can have 3 meetings online all the time
kenneth paul thompson says:
what aquipment do I need
Troy de boer says:
If you dont have that speed you still have access to 3 meetings but you will need to open and close each stream
A dedicated PC. Most people use a large HDTV and a monitor
kenneth paul thompson says:
I got sky b/band with 10mmb
Troy de boer says:
If you have fibre optic you would be laughing
OK tahts OK
How amny Pc's have you got?
kenneth paul thompson says:
no with sky but was changing to virgin 2 plus laptop
Troy de boer says:
OK thats all OK
Understand this is all off plan
Its not an official service
kenneth paul thompson says:
ya understand
Troy de boer says:
Ok Background
The streams he bookmakers stream are compressed
My colleague contracts the IT and handles all of that he has access to raw data streams
He will plug you in directly via his portal
The delay on the pics will be the speed of your internet connection
Average its 600 millisecs in UK
kenneth paul thompson says:
thats fast
Troy de boer says:
Its what they are watching oncourse
When I was involved with sats was at least 1.2 secs off course if you had good kit
When did you have SIS
kenneth paul thompson says:
about 3years ago
Troy de boer says:
Ahh
Without gibving too much away I transitioned a lot of SIS home to racetech feeds from 2004
I am surprised I never contacted you
One further point on the Irish racing
Not all their tracks are on this system but the main ones are
kenneth paul thompson says:
you my have done as i was contacted by someone who said they could do it but lost contacted with them as one of his family was very ill hope it was'nt you
Troy de boer says:
maybe or my colleague
we used to sub off SIS do installs
kenneth paul thompson says:
were you based
Troy de boer says:
Northampton
kenneth paul thompson says:
i on the wirral
Troy de boer says:
OK
Anyway have a think about it.
It takes about 10 days to get a trial going and we need you to confirm its OK after 4 days
Then we just leave it on
1 thing that is important
No wifi with this must be cabled into modem
kenneth paul thompson says:
it sounds good to me but what i'd like to do is get cable installed should only take a few days as i've already got all the fixings
Troy de boer says:
Problem is that with wifi there is too much interference and error correction
Its basically an ethernet cable into the router modem that you need
kenneth paul thompson says:
right got a mate who knows all about that stuff i'll get him to sort it out
Troy de boer says:
OK
kenneth paul thompson says:
right i'll get to work on my side and get back in touch say monday ok
Troy de boer says:
No prob
You can leave it till end of next week as I confirm all the orders at the end of each week
kenneth paul thompson says:
ok thats fine thanks for your info be in touch soon
Troy de boer says:
Ok bye
kenneth paul thompson says:
bye

Hi I'm Troy de Boer,

You might remember me from such scams as 'Buy the Eiffel Tower for a dollar' or 'Drink this expensive tonic and grow all your hair back in 3 days' :D

The SiS feeds are available on various birds (satellites) and 20 degrees West is a common one. The big problem is their movement from bird to bird. This means you could have a "free to air" feed one moment and no feed the next

They can also use birds that are not in a geostationary orbit and this causes problems. Basically the satellite "wobbles" on its orbit so specialist tracking mounts are required. Without these mounts the picture will fade in and out.

There is a delay on all satellite transmissions and sometimes you may be catching the feed on the second hop according to how they route the feed. This would increase any delay as would transmission via the internet.

Sounds like a scam to me and all their future correspondence will be encrypted when the feeds disappear!!
