I remember John Motson talking about the long-term ramifications of foreign ownership a few years back. This is something he predicted could happen.

It would rip the guts out of English football.

Foreign owners admire our game from afar, but it's not part of their fibre, or culture. They weren't born into it. Therefore, they don't see themselves as custodians of our game, they just want to take as much from as they can. I blame the Governing bodies for allowing things to potentially reach this situation, they should have tried to stop the influx of foreign owners.

However the real problem is Richard Scudamore, he would sell his Gran for £5. This is the tosspot who wanted the 39th game! He's hardly in a position to criticise owners for wanting to protect their own interests, when he was willing to rape the soul from English football himself
