True, but some evidence is better than none at all...

And do you think that a referee who's used to being shouted at and surrounded by beefy young players is going to care less about being glared at by a man in his mid 60s?

Jealousy is a strong emotion...

Ever heard of confirmation bias? :)

To suggest Fergie can win things without money is a bit deceiving. The early 80's were a different era. Even Dundee United reached a European final, and Watford & Southampton both finished runners-up in the old 1st Division. In fact, it's fairly well documented that Aberdeen had a higher wage bill than the Old Firm - Strachan & McGhee etc were on better money than any Celtic or Rangers player, and Fergie himself took a pay cut to go to Man Utd

I didn't say Fergie could win things without money - Fergie himself remarked in his autobiography that you need money to achieve success. All I was saying is that, for a while, United have had less money to play with than City or Chelsea, but have more than held their own.

And 99% of them were shit

I think that's also deceiving. Not only because Souness & Sturrock only played under him for a short spell as Scotland manager after the death of Jock Stein, but any player who has played for Man Utd and wants to enter management will probably get the opportunity to do so. I think his length of time in the job, means just through law of averages there's a good chance of a few managers coming through

This the list since 2007 of the richest and most valuable clubs in the world. Man Utd has been top since 2000? maybe?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes%27_ ... ball_clubs

However Juventus was accused for years of having penaltys and dubbies decision in their favor. People were talking about jeoulosy a non sense rumors but in the end Juventus was found guilty in 2006 of corrupting some referees. 50% of Italians thinks that the allegations were real and based on real facts, 50% of Italians still thinks that it was a conspiracy against Juventus from MORATTI, inter milan owner. In fact Inter Milan have succesfully dominated the serie A from 2007 to 2010. This year Juventus is one point ahead of Ac Milan, it's the only club in europe which have not lost a single game. Despite that Juventus could have been 7 to 10 points ahead of Ac Milan if some clear penaltys were given but, referees were scare to give penaltys in favor of Juventus because of the match fixing scandal.
Juventus scored 62 goals and only one goal was scored on penalty.
I am not saying that Man Utd or Barcelona are corrupting the referees but often referees can be corrupted and conditioned by many factors so the atmosphere or by the pressure of certain clubs
