putting lay bet on early

I want to put a lay price on at odds of 12 before the race starts. The lay price for example at 3 but I do not want it matched until the price reaches 12 in play. Is it possible to put an order in somehow on bet angel that will let this happen?

Yes its very easy to do but can only be done via automation by instructing the rule to place a lay when last traded price is greater than 12.0 or whatever odds you want.

Thanks Dallas, so there will be a great possibility that it wont get matched if the price does not fall back below 12. Would it be better to wait till the lay price gets to 12 and put a lay in at 14 as there would be much more chance it will be matched by someone who thinks they have a bargain?

That would be upto you to play about with and find what works best for you. You are correct in saying by triggering the lay at slightly lower than the odds you want will increase the chances of you getting a match (the bigger the gap between these the more chance of a match)
As well as what you suggested you could also trigger the lay to place at 12 once the odds trade above 10

Then later on you can get even more creative by saying only do the above if the fav is also below 2.0 etc
