you may well have a valid point that i did not even consider at the time,
i know that if the trade had worked completely in Boliteli's favor i would have netted nearly £3800, but i don't get carried away with those sort of figures
i enter the trade for a specific reason and i get out for a specific reason.

Well done Tom, I do similar trades on tennis and have a question.

Considering that cross matching is enabled on tennis markets, wouldn’t have been better to BACK Bolelli @ 50 / LAY @ 25 rather than LAY Nadal 1.02 / BACK 1.04?

Risking £82, you would have netted a few quid more, £77.90 after the 5% commission.

Or am I missing something?
I'm talking off the top of my head (or perhaps through my arse - I'm on the booze) but laying at 25 equates to backing at 1.04167, so I think the money laid at 1.04 (which took his closing trade) may not have matched his 25 back bet until it's all gone. In essence, the money would have been at the front of the 1.05 queue.

i suppose in my defence and from a physcological point of view it seems easier to move 2 ticks from 1.02 to 1.04 rather than 15 ticks from 25 to 50.

No need to defend yourself, I was suggesting that a back bet at 25 may not have been matched. :)

Good point there, Derek. I need to do some experiments in live markets.

Surprised Dominic Thiem isn't getting more solid support in the outright betting

Most amusing are the people that lay the leader regardless of price when rain rears it's head.. despite very often the price already being big or fair in many cases. Not always the case, but quite often recently.

Will have my eye on the Begu match if the rain holds off and liquidity picks up

the accent is pure "Lesta"
I'd guessed south lincs, I'm nr Lincoln. Before the days of people moving around you could pin an accent down to a village round here, still can with the old-timers.

Feels like Cirstea about to throw in 10 unforced errors and throw the match away v Gavrilova.

Got down on herself when leading or level, which I will never understand. Not exactly cause to get upset.. Normal service resuming now she's losing.

So far so good on the begu match, just wish the liquidity was a little better

At least we'll get a 3rd set

Anyone on the Sharapova match?
A set and break up over 130K traded at 1.01, now shes a break down in the 3rd and in danger of being another shock exit!

Difficult to see on the charts but as I expected the final set of the Begu Vs Schmiedlo match resembled the earlier sets except for being on steroids!
at 5-5 that's me done with this one

Edit begu touched 1.02 then drifted out to 2.5ish moments later - as she broke and was then broke straight back, now at 6-6 and both players are trading around evens
Been an amazing match!

Not overly impressed with Nadal. I think he looks too short at present
