I took one against Halep @1,59 when it was 5-1 in anticipation of a better start by Williams

I'd guess its a tradition which goes all the way back to when it was 'Ladies' tennis and they were deemed unable to last for 5 sets.

I'd like to see it changed though, certainly no reason why modern players couldn't do it and im sure I've heard S.Williams in the past say she'd welcome for that to happen
Thanks for that, I see no reason why they don't play 5 sets. I am surprised there isn't the same vigor of protest about it as there would be if there wasn't equal prize money.

Strange that ;)

Fantastic performance by Halep and way to secure her first Wimbledon title, and excellent call from Euler from quite early in the tournament
