Thanks for looking, Very strange as the profile works fine on desktop on blue login window but not on laptop.

Obviously not a show stopper but can't see any reason for not working as expected on laptop.

will check laptop clock synch. By the way it is a fast, modern laptop!

There must be something it doesn't like and the only think I can think of is something in the layout profile it's being used with

You could try deleting it and log out of BA, then log in again and import it, not sure if it will make and difference but its worth a try

Interesting. If I load at the blue screen the 'default' screen layout plus my profile it is fine. Somehow it doesn't like the screen layout I saved, although I am not sure now how I saved my own screen layout profile! Must look it up in the user manual.

Anyway, it seems problem solved so many thanks.
