Goat,
Great result. Assume you are using automation as well as manual? To get that level of profit, if you don't mind me asking, what is your average stake size?
cheers
stake varies by type of market and volume

Few questions for you

1. Which Sports
2. Pre-race/In-play/both
3. What was the size of your starting bank.
4. Min, Max, Avg liability of all events bet over the period
5. Min, Max, Avg profit of all events bet over the period
6. Min, Max, Avg profit/liability of all events bet over period
7. Longest losing run ( i.e no. of events ) and how much lost
8. Fixed/Variable 'stake' and how much
9. Any room for improvement/tweaks eg, scale up
Greyhounds and horses
pre-race
As little a starting Bank as possible :-)
Bet liability varies from say £10 to £50
Single market profit has been as large as +£200, and loss as big as -£200, but that's typically when something goes wrong! (Shit happens!)
Biggest drawdown about -£300
Variable staking
Always monitoring, tweaking and looking for improvements and new stuff......

Forgot to ask:

10. What is the total number of events you have bet to make that profit ?

Always a bit surprised there aren't more similar threads around, and in general people asking for specific help etc.

Perhaps too proud even under the guise of anonymity and nothing to lose? If anyone thinks it makes you look daft it's the opposite surely, it's much smarter to ask questions since it's a much more efficient way of doing things than wasting time doing it the wrong way.

Many traders on here have gone through most of it and any one of them can offer a bit of advice, as that's always the easy part!

Hmm, remember i'm "automated",... Well a rough estimate given the last month was 6000markets and my volume picked up a bit through the year, i'd estimate about 60,000 markets for the year.

Hmm, Interesting - I wasn't expecting that many
Have you thought about In-play ? - less markets - bigger profits

Many years ago I was a foreman and we had 2 young guys that were working for us while they were still at school. One was quietish but asked questions all the time, the other wanted to muck around and drink with us after work. I wanted the first one the other foreman's choose the one that mucks around, So I asked why they choose the 2nd guy and their reasoning was the quiet guy asks questions all the time and was a pain in the arse, I said that's good it shows he wants to learn. I said those that don't question things either don't care about what they are doing or think they know it all. Net result the guy they choose crashed a ute thru a fence and then 2-3 months later cooked the engine in a light truck because he didn't think he needed to do pre starts. Then they spent 6 months trying to get him to leave

The first guy went into the army and last I heard was doing very well.

Well done @goat68 for sticking with it! I enjoyed keeping up with your progress until the later discussions on BFSP and Value, which unfortunately went a bit over my head as a newbie!! Could someone please shed more light on BFSP and Value, explaining why these concepts are important in Betfair trading and in your strategy?

I've noticed these terms being tossed around, but initially, I thought they held more significance in the context of straight betting rather than trading? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3I0GJihf7s.

A weekly profit is probably better than half the forum so don't be downhearted, this time next year Rodney.
This guy wasn't wrong.
