I spoke to a couple of bookies.

Most got the 5 days expenses after 3.5 days, and really wanted the last 3 races to make anything on the week.

Money is still around on the course, and they did get a few
results which helped, but it does highlight the issue a
working bookie has, when he’s locked into expenses he has no control over, and the weather may not play ball.
