Betfair in Hungary or Slovakia

Hello,

Is anyone using Betfair in Hungary or Slovakia? I'm looking for places in the EU to trade from.

Hungary:
I'm aware I would have to declare my income for tax purposes. 15% tax I can live with, given the cheaper cost of living. But I'm also aware of the banking restrictions - Will I run into issues depositing and withdrawing if I used a bank account from outside of Hungary?
Would there be any other fines or anything else to deal with? It seems odd having to declare tax for a technically illegal activity, makes me kind of uneasy. Betfair operates here unlicensed.
I read a forum post from a few years ago that said deposits were restricted on betfair? Is that still the case?

Slovakia: As far as I can tell there is no tax to declare here? My other questions for Slovakia are similar to Hungary given the payment blocking etc happening in both countries.

Please if anyone has experience using betfair from these 2 countries it'd be great to hear from you. Any and all feedback appreciated! Thanks

I did read that thread a bit earlier. Some interesting perspectives in there. Hopefully the political/social climate wouldn't be too much of a concern for me given that I'm just looking to hunker down, grind up some money, and maybe meet a couple cool people along the way. I'd quickly get out of there if something wasn't right. Do you think I'd run into many problems with an EU passport if I stayed in Bratislava? Am I asking for trouble?

You say you left Slovakia. Is there a particular country you chose to trade from instead?
Have also been looking at Denmark. Ireland would be nice but the rental market is bananas. Betfair Sweden will not be renewing their license when it expires in December so that's no longer an option.
I need a country with betfair available because I rely on the API to trade. But I don't use automation, so a VPS is not an option.

I can't help with your main issue about where to register an account, but you can also trade manually with a vps. It's just a place to run your software and you connect to it remotely.

I left Slovakia as I just wanted to come back home to the UK. You can't just go and live there, especially since Brexit. You have to register with the 'foreign police', and you'll need a job, a sponsor, a permanent address, and maybe even citizenship. They really don't fancy foreigners pitching up there. Hard enough to move there 10 years ago; nigh on impossible now, I'd imagine.

Fair point, I didn't consider that. It's tricky because I would still need a registered address somewhere. But it's something for me to think about.

I have EU passport, not UK, but I wasn't aware the foreign police register was a thing for EU citizens too. It does make things a bit more sketchy. Good to know. Thanks.

EU passport.....I missed that bit. Presumably easier for you then, - I don't know what the process would be for you.

Im with the same question. Studying the best place to play with betfair. Austria, Hungary or Slovakia.
Betfair chat told me today, that Betfair is still up and running in Hungary. I dont understand what was blocked than? Was it the bank deposits?
In Austria i think there are no gambling taxes on winnings and in Slovakia i dont know. Does anyone play in any of this countries?
