I'm still struggling to understand how placing a bet on the winner after its won is cheating, if odds are being offered.

Organized crime groups will exploit the tiniest of gaps given the opportunity. In this case, we’re talking about a 20 or 30 second advantage that led to significant gains,” said Interpol secretary general

30s isn't what we'd call "tiny". Still struggling to see the crime here although mention of counterfeit money sounds like laundering is the issue. Is using a mobile phone considered "satellite tech" too?

Using BA could be considered an unfair and illegal advantage. ;)

for a start the part about atp and itf is obviously false, everyone who has been at a tournament knows how fast bookies have the score updated after a point. 20 seconds lmao

It's only when one occasionally stumbles across an article subject of which you have expert knowledge, that you realise how uninformed, poorly explained, or just plain false, much of the other media we consume must be.

What is wrong is if you are backing the 'winner' knowing that it has won - that's 'insider' trading which is cheating ;)

Insider trading is acting on confidential information.

But the winner of a competition is arguably confidential until it's been announced. Only people watching the event will know. :)

Might wanna tip Europol about tennis courtsiding. Imagine Betfair having to give account details and all the money getting seized hoovered over the years by one of the market makers.

You are talking about '"Insider" trading in the Financial World of stocks and shares.
I'm talking about "Insider Trading" in the Sports Betting World.
Both are 'cheating'

Be useful to know which bookmakers are managing markets with a 20 or 30 second delay....
