Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone has tried Carl's In play Trading Course and if so what they think of it?
Thanks, Tony

I have heard GOOD reviews of this course. I believe Carl used to post on this community with the username rik. I'm not sure if he is still active on here anymore ....
Have a look at this review - it might help to clarify. There is an extract of one of his videos there as well.

In-play too stressful for me but there are plenty who trade this way.

Wow. Is that true? I was thinking about Rik recently and wondering how he was doing. Not great apparentlyThe Silk Run wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2023 8:47 amI have heard GOOD reviews of this course. It's simply scalping in-play during the middle part of race. Bound to get some decent results as you will win most of those trades, but you will get the occasional whopping loss that will set you back significantly. Uses some other software, so this trading style looks very outdated now.
reading the review, there's mention of daily stake and %age used per trade. I was quite surprised to see that 10% of the daily stake is used per race. now, this could boil down to whatever %age the daily stake is of the total bank. but to me, why have a daily stake and not just use either kelly or a flat 1-2% of your bank (liquidity allowing). this just caught me as odd (i.e. the risk management should be in the trading setup, not an arbitary decision to use £250 a day and apportion 10% of that per trade.. maybe i'm missing something tho).Anbell wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2023 9:49 amWow. also - to point to the obvious, your risk (2%, 10% etc) is not/should not be related to the stake. it should be your risk tolerance - i.e. how much your stop loss is per trade. so a 2% trade is where you are willing to lose £2 on a £100 stake. so in this case, assuming i had a £1000 bank, i'd be STAKING 10% of my bank but my controlled risk would only be 2% of my bank.
it's stuff like this that irks me and makes the vendor appear naive or ill informed.
Unlike many out there, that's a pretty fair and balanced review.lavenham wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2023 9:32 amHave a look at this review - it might help to clarify. There is an extract of one of his videos there as well.
