Can't believe they ran that first race. How can they be sure those horses that are left are really in a fit state to run 2 miles?

Someones going to be in alot of trouble that's for sure, been electrocuted myslef, so made me feel very sick watching that, poor horses just couldn't get away in time.

I am looking forward to the day when we get a 'normal' Saturday again.

Looks like the meeting is in severe doubt now. Announcement from the course that they are considering whether they should continue or not.

Sounds like the paddock has been spiked between meetings so perhaps clipped a cable undeground. Would make sense as humans will have had shoes on so wont have been able to feel it then as soon as a horse in its plates went off the rubber on to the grass they would have been shocked.

Mare, another Saturday lost. But you can understand why on this occasion. Very sad for those affected.

There is no 'normal' in racing.

Did you know, on the very first time I went to use 'BetAngel' on Australian races (that was last year), a freak hailstorm sent down hail the size of golf balls and the entire meet in Melbourne had to be abandoned.

Summary: -

First race, horses walk into the paddock two collapse, others freak out some made it out of the paddock but two died. Speculation that is was an electric shock.

They still ran the first race for some reason but have now abandoned.

it just sounds so odd??!! Sounds awful though? The poor horses. Not to mention thank goodness none of the race gooers were harmed. This is going to be bad enough PR for racing as is but if a member of the public had been serverly hurt could have been catastrophic.
