funny that. sooner or later it will dawn on the masses what Apple stuff really is, i.e. average technology in a pretty wrapper built by Chinese slaves.

Managed to see a MS Surface the other day. It works well, in terms of gestures and general useability, the apps are quite limited at the moment, but..... it feels really 'cheap'.

When you put an iPad next to it the Surface looks a bit like a kids toy. It's got a very plastic feel to it and it doesn't feel 'cool' like an iPad. I know other devices will be created for the underlying technology but I don't think I'll be tempted by the RT version of the surface.

MS had a great chance to make a revolution if W8 was an OS that could be used on any device. Can you imagine if you could all the programs (like BA) on a mobile phone?

Stock at an interesting level for Apple at the moment. Back down to the $530 level

Compared to where he bought them 6 months ago they must seem that way ;) having fallen about 20%

But fair point he makes about owning a bucket of Apples, but with this particular Apple I am happy not being a buyer atm, the only apple I fancy at the moment is a toffee apple :P

problem with apple is it has all gone a bit stale and despite tim cook saying the opposite there doesn't seem to be much in the pipeline anywhere on the horizon.

With the man power and talent they have they should be churning stuff out but there seems to have been pretty much nothing major for 18 months. The Iphone 5 was a decent release but apart from that and the ipad mini which isn;t exactly ground breaking what has there been?? In that time samsung have released about 10 decent products!

Is there anything happening with the Apple TV set?

As you say they have gone a bit stale.

A good point was made in the video Peter linked too about companies in general don't use cash piles very well. I think this could easily be argued in the case of Betfair.

nothing come through about the apple tv set.

Tim cook said in the last earnings call they have some exciting things coming in the 3rd quarter of the year........3rd quarter before the hint of anything new!!! Thats pretty bad!!!!

If google bring out a watch at i/o this week then its really going to hit apple hard because by all accounts apple are behind on ios7 never mind an iwatch. Last reports were that the development watch had only a day of battery in tests and they were struggling to get it up any higher!!!

Don't know much about the watch but had heard talk of one. Not sure what it would be used for that a mobile doesn't do?

I do like Google's Glass idea and can see loads of stuff that could be used for though I think it is still ahead of its time for a lot of what it could be used for.

Big privacy concerns about those glasses, though I doubt it'll stop people lapping them up http://stopthecyborgs.org/
