I only have ever seen hurdles moved on vary rare occasions (I do not mean just omitting them) in my 40 odd years of watching racing, and this would need approval from the BHA. Obviously, most courses could not move their chase fences, only tracks with mobile fences would have the ability, but I suspect these fit in set places in the running rail.
I've just noticed Fontwell moved their final hurdle back 70 metres in the last couple of months. Used to be 200m out, now is 270m out.

I did not notice myself, we will need to wait and see if it is permanent, it could be something like a bad patch of ground or drainage problems at the original hurdle position.

This where I have an issue with Betfair markets, you can still bet on a selection that can no longer win for example when a horse falls or the correct score 0-0 market when there's been a goal. They'll be plenty fo people in there looking for that oppertunity, maybe even creating oppertunity looking to fire other peoples automation for profit as they know they can't loose.
I feel the classic example is when a horse is withdrawn (maybe will not go in the starting gate) at the Start and does not take part in the race. The runners come under Starter's Orders ... and they are off. Watch the trading in running on the horse that didn't start! The bots don't know it was withdrawn so are reacting to the prices caused by other bots that don't know the horse has been withdrawn!

I'm just watching the Opening Show and the standard of jumps racing this season has been absolutely diabolical IMO When it is decent they let Irish trainers like Willie Mullins absolutely trounce our horses and take all the prize money back to Ireland

Not in the slightest Bob ... I have seen it with my own 2 eyes as have others. If a horse refuses to enter the stall by which time all others are ready and waiting and and the starter loses patience the time gap between officially withdrawing the runner from the race and the race starting can be so short that Derek's suspend monkey doesn't get the time to cancel the runner it remains in the in-running tradiing and BOTs will trad it's price. I assume Bf void the bets when settling. Have a look at some past comments on this the links should take you to the start of the discussions so just read down a few posts ...

16:55 @ Punchestown - winner DQ'd for weighing in 1.3lbs light. There is a 1lb tolerance, so he was just 0.3lbs under limit, which is the same as a small apple. It won by 9 very easy lengths.

37G Bet Victor INH Flat Race
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the fact that Mr Finn Tegetmeier, rider of Colcannon, placed first, trained by N. Meade, weighed in 1.3lbs light following this race. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Mr. Tegetmeier stated that following weighing out he walked the track and went to the toilet. Mr. Meade stated that everything he received from the rider went on the horse and he couldn't account for the missing weight. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards disqualified Colcannon from first place in accordance with the provisions of Rule 231 (i) and took no further action.

Betfair just changed the reductions factors on the 14:40 after the result was known. This could significantly adjust your payout.

Does anyone know how to set a automatic rule to lay a horse at 1.01 after backing this horse

How often, if at all, do UK/Ire race courses adjust the distance between the final obstacle and the finish line?
It seems that hurdles are moved more commonly than perhaps thought. I've seen several instances in the last week where the distance between final hurdle and the finish line has been moved significantly from card to card.

Does anyone know of anywhere online that lists these distances and/or changes by card?

Was it by a lot? Never known them to change reduction factors that late

Lingfield running 5 minutes late today.

Final race there will be 3 minutes late, rather than 5
