I havent. It would be interesting to know what their plans are in terms of offsetting their risk in the sports book on the exchange, but that will come up anyway I expect from the community
It will be interesting to see what comes up..

Originally they planned to offer services like cash out as an exchange link, but I was bit miffed when cash out arrived and it wasn't linked to the exchange at all!

I have had a response to my question already: -
Hi Peter,

We’ve already had the same question through and John McElligott will be providing a response on Thurs. – See forum chat section on Thurs night for published answer.

You might not see your exact question (we’ve already had the same thing) as we don’t want to repeat the same answer.

I can assure you that this topic will be covered

Basically why are they only advertising the sportsbook and don't they think this is a error given how things are panning out?

It says on their press release on 3rd Dec they are planning to integrate sportsbook with the exchange. http://corporate.betfair.com/media/pres ... -2013.aspx

The PDF indicates recreational sports book bets will be going on to the exchange with their new matching machine

That's what they said about the sportsbook cash out, some time ago. Never happened.

I thought when you spoke to them earlier in the year, they advised cash out would not go on the exchange.

I'm sure it will be something they will be addressing on the Q@A.

In the conference call before that conversation they indicated the opposite so that's why that particular conversation took place.

Reading the first few pages of that report it feels as though they have almost gone full circle to me. They seem to talk as though the whole reason they went with the sports book was with the idea of attracting people slowly to betfair and then the exchange because thevidea of the exchange was to confusing for the casual public.

If the sports book is doing well as they suggest it is (I've not read the numbers) it would be strange they would go back towards exchange unless they make more from their PC customers as they do being bookmaker.

Off the top of my head I don't think SB revenue has offset the decline in the exchange. I'd have to check that.

I sent them a question, but it's a question that will be duplicated by many

Q) Is the continuation of Premium Charge due to financial needs or arrogance?

I don't expect an answer!!!

Credit to them for popping up to answer questions, but I don't honestly think they don't know how little goodwill they have let with exchange users. Maybe this exercise will help them understand that.
