Just found this on Betfair: -

They will be running a Q&A session with the key managing directors on 19th December 18.00 - 19.30 (GMT)
Betfair - Ask the Managing directors Q&A Session
Originally they planned to offer services like cash out as an exchange link, but I was bit miffed when cash out arrived and it wasn't linked to the exchange at all!
I have had a response to my question already: -

Hi Peter,
We’ve already had the same question through and John McElligott will be providing a response on Thurs. – See forum chat section on Thurs night for published answer.
You might not see your exact question (we’ve already had the same thing) as we don’t want to repeat the same answer.
I can assure you that this topic will be covered

It says on their press release on 3rd Dec they are planning to integrate sportsbook with the exchange. http://corporate.betfair.com/media/pres ... -2013.aspx
The PDF indicates recreational sports book bets will be going on to the exchange with their new matching machine

I thought when you spoke to them earlier in the year, they advised cash out would not go on the exchange.

I'm sure it will be something they will be addressing on the Q@A.
In the conference call before that conversation they indicated the opposite so that's why that particular conversation took place.steven1976 wrote:I thought when you spoke to them earlier in the year, they advised cash out would not go on the exchange.

Reading the first few pages of that report it feels as though they have almost gone full circle to me. They seem to talk as though the whole reason they went with the sports book was with the idea of attracting people slowly to betfair and then the exchange because thevidea of the exchange was to confusing for the casual public.
If the sports book is doing well as they suggest it is (I've not read the numbers) it would be strange they would go back towards exchange unless they make more from their PC customers as they do being bookmaker.
