As you may know Canbet is not paying out withdrawals for some months and now were asked to stop taking bets from 1.1 2014.

They are regulated by UK gambling commission.

Do you guys know if there is precedence for this and how it did pan out in past?

Canbet is owned by International All Sports Limited which is 100% owned by Paddy Power which is a listed Company if you need some financial data.

Wow, I was totally unaware of the Canbet situation. I used them a number of times a few years back when I was arbing, and they were a good bookmaker. I also logged on after the Racing Post hacking to double check my account status - absolutely no sign of anything untoward

I've just had a look around Twitter after reading this thread and can't believe it - some people haven't been paid a withdrawal after 2 months of waiting.

How come it's taken so long for the gambling commission to step in?

** I've also just read some threads on various forums. An absolute disgrace how some customers have been treated and how the punters seem almost powerless

That is not true. Canbet is owned by different company now http://www.igasgroup.com/ Ias.com is owned by Paddy but they have nothing to do with Canbet anymore.

Curiously had a problem with them a long time ago, around 2009 I think. Back then others were having troubles with them as well. SBR intervened but nevertheless they were demanding more things to process a withdrawal. As soon as everything was settled, simply put them on my personal blacklist. Weren't worth the hassle.

Thanks for clearing that up Michal. I feel better for knowing that. Apologies to all and Paddy.
