As the site has got a lot busier in the last year it's time for an upgrade and to banish those annoying bad gateway errors.
Therefore, please be aware we are intending this weekend to migrate to a new hosting provider. The website, but more specifically the forum may go offline for an extended period.
The site move should be easy, but we are expecting problems migrating the forum, so we will take it off line and migrate separately.
The result of this migration should be improved capacity and performance for the whole site and forum. It should also allow us to make provision for future upgrades.
We will post here again when it's complete.

I guess you'll tweet that too because otherewise it's like saying we're fixing your phone and you should ring us to find out if it's been done.Bet Angel wrote: We will post here again when it's complete.
...good luck with it.
Well, that went well!
The new server we migrated to had terrible performance and eventually failed so we have rolled back for the moment and will try again in the near future with a different server. The hosting company were apologetic, but what a shambles TBH. So much for an upgrade!!
There was a short period when the forum came back but we lost a couple of posts. So sorry about that.
We will let you know when we try again.

My browser warned about certificates today. After ignoring those warnings I got something like forbidden, can't access /. Using http (not https) I can access the site. Maybe something to look into?
