I think I remember reading Betfair doesn't like people placing bets for less than £1
If I lay the whole book for £1, bets as small as £0.01 get placed on individual horses... is this a no no? Also, I don't understand how it does this when Betfair doesn't let you place bets under £1?
Will laying the book at tiny stakes get me in trouble?

You risk incurring the wrath of Betfair if you do a lot of this. Not only do they not like forcing through large volumes of <£1 stakes but you also risk getting pulled up for penny pinching. eg if you lay a <1.50 shot for 1p you end up collecting 1p if it loses and pay out 0p if it wins.Fugazi wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 10:19 pmI think I remember reading Betfair doesn't like people placing bets for less than £1

Bet Angel gets around the £1 minimum by placing a bet for £1.00, adjusting the value to £1.XX, and then cancelling the original £1.00.
Yikes, glad I asked. Thankfully only done a handful, seemed to be profitable which made we wonder what the catch was. Interesting concept the penny pinching, didn't think there would be a glitch like that hahjamesedwards wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 10:50 pmYou risk incurring the wrath of Betfair if you do a lot of this. I use lay liability stakes a lot and will lay up to c 120 which means a lot of 1p lays can go in and not had any issues with BF,
You can also see that a there can be a lot "hidden" stakes on the ladder that are < 1 that don't show up.
Also when using larger stakes, even in big markets like cricket you can find your stake when it get to the front of the queue gets nibbled away 2p at a time...
So whilst I don't disagree with anything James says there are clearly a lot of folk that do it.
