Just wondering what the general views are on taking the XSP prices, either deliberately or as a safety net when trading a selection?
Is it also a complete 'secret' as to how it's calculated? I know their reduction factors applied are completely secret because I once asked and was told 'we tell no-one how that is calculated'. I wondered is it the same with SP calculation on Betdaq, and does that cause any issues to be wary of?
Thanks for any views,
Stuey.
Any views on Betdaq XSP (take SP)?

Just to note, I mean Betdaq specifically (not BF XSP), though any comparisons would be interesting.

Thanks for the views, does anyone think it settles either a little in favour of the SP backers or layers in particular?
No bias that I've detected, they try and make it as close to 100% as possible.stueytrader wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 1:59 pmThanks for the views, does anyone think it settles either a little in favour of the SP backers or layers in particular?
If you abuse any system, you will get your wrist slapped. There are quite a few loopholes that have existed, on various exchanges from time to time. But ultimately they are effectively exploits and therefore get shut down.foxwood wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 9:28 pmThey don't like certain actions ...

Ok, thank you for your view on that. I had a few experiences where I felt they were shortening selections when I used SP as a backer, but may have just been that small sample I had.Euler wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 2:31 pmNo bias that I've detected, they try and make it as close to 100% as possible.stueytrader wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 1:59 pmThanks for the views, does anyone think it settles either a little in favour of the SP backers or layers in particular?
I've always prefered XSP to BSP as BSP can easily be manipulated, you get some really odd results now and again and it can't tolerate much money.
XSP just seems to work really well for me. But like all SP's you can't use it with big stakes or you influence it. But I'd love it if Betfair would adopt a similar method as their SP is a bit broken now.

Betdaq must be matching back and lay XSP bets against each other and match the remaining liability themselves, whereas Betfair match it against the back/lay bets in the market at the time of the off? Is that correct?
